Prestigious awards for Global NCAP leading lights

Jess & David Awards

The extraordinary contribution to road safety of two pillars of Global NCAP, Jessica Truong and David Ward, has been recognised with prestigious awards.

Jessica Truong, senior adviser to Global NCAP, was honoured as Woman Pioneer of Car Safety at the inaugural MotorTrader Women in Motor Industry Awards.

She was recognised for her inspirational leadership of campaigns for a world free from road fatalities and serious injuries.

Truong said: “It was a wonderful surprise to be presented with the Woman Pioneer of Car Safety Award. I’m very grateful to have such supportive colleagues who help champion women working in road and vehicle safety – and very appreciative of the opportunity to continue collaborating with Global NCAP to democratise vehicle safety.”

Meanwhile David Ward, President Emeritus, received the Special Contribution to Motoring Award from The Guild of Motoring Writers.

Ward was described as “a true visionary, whose relentless commitment to vehicle safety has saved countless lives on a global scale. He is not just a campaigner; he is an architect of change.”

“It has been a privilege to have contributed to both Euro NCAP and Global NCAP, building a market for safer vehicles worldwide,” said Ward.

Global NCAP Chief Executive Officer, Richard Woods, described the honours as “well-deserved recognition for two leading members of the Global NCAP team, whose career-long commitment to, and impact on, improving vehicle safety has been extraordinary.”
