Mixed results for Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki has achieved mixed crash-test results with its models sold in India, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio has improved to a three-star rating for adult occupant protection, in the latest #SaferCarsForIndia tests, thanks to six airbags now being fitted as standard.
The Suzuki Baleno, produced in India and sold in Latin America, has improved to two stars thanks to safety enhancements made following a previous one star performance in Latin NCAP tests.
In Australasian NCAP’s latest result the Suzuki Fronx narrowly reached the threshold for a one-star rating, following poor performance in key crash tests and low levels of occupant protection for both adults and children.

NCAP25 Plenary: Achieving more through collaboration
The World Congress plenary brought together colleagues from across the NCAP community, to share ideas and discuss priorities for vehicle safety.
The session was opened by Global NCAP Chairman Iain Cameron, who stressed the importance of collaboration, in order to achieve more, in less time.
The urgent need to improve fleet safety
Driving for work is one of the biggest risks for employees: work-related crashes cause 400,000 deaths a year – a third of the global total.
But with sixty per cent of vehicle sales in Europe being for fleets, a huge opportunity exists to lower those figures, via better fleet safety.
Speaking after a session at NCAP25 dedicated to fleet safety, Luca Pascotto (left), the FIA’s Head of Road Safety and Global Advocacy, said it was “essential” for fleet safety to be high on the agenda of the road safety debate.
